We are looking for three Field Service Technicians to develop economical solutions to technical issues with the company’s complete offering of CNC machinery.

Location: Minneapolis, MN region / Northeast U.S. region of the Continental United States (Relocation required)
Department: Service
Reports to: National Service Manager

Responsibilities:
The Field Service Technician is responsible for installing new Horizontal Machining Centers, Vertical Machining Centers, and Cylindrical Grinding Machines (including all options and accessories on all machine types) in North America. He or she analyzes findings to determine source(s) of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and/or application issues, coordinates problem resolution, and recommends repair, replacement, and/or other corrective action for Toyoda’s complete line of CNC VMCs, HMCs, and Cylindrical Grinders. The Field Service Technician provides technical/remote support (telephone, email, etc.) to all customers, distributors, and co-workers and may also initiate project management and training as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
The Field Service Technician does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:
Work is performed in a manufacturing-type setting with exposure to health and safety hazards, and with minimal time spent working on a computer. Sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity is required to operate computer keyboard and other office and/or machine equipment. The duties of the Field Service Technician will frequently require exposure to manufacturing areas which require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety shoes, safety glasses with side shields, and mandatory hearing protection.

Travel:
Travel by automobile and plane are required approximately 80-90% of the time.

Requirements:
• Knowledge of leveling, checking, and adjusting the geometry of CNC machinery
• Exposure to close tolerance machning and/or related metrology is highly desirable
• Ability to read and modify PLC logic is highly preferred
• Knowledge of motion control systems (specifically Fanuc systems) is highly preferred
• Availability for permanent relocation to within fifty (50) miles of the specified area
• Flexibility for periodic, company funded travel to Arlington Heights, Illinois (site of company headquarters)
• Ability to process confidential information
• Attention to detail, self-motivation and organization
• Impeccable verbal and written communication skills and the ability to relate to customer needs
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and all aspects of the English language

Education:
• Collegiate degree (A.S. B.S. E.E. etc.) or equivalent experience/certification/training in an applicable engineering-related discipline
