emco pc mill 55 setup problems

so we are setting up an emco pc mill 55 at our tech school and have been having problems getting the mill to run correctly, or at all for that matter. we have an interface card purchased from emco, but it seems the pc is not seeing the card. i would think that the card would show up under the installed hardware list in the system control panel, but it is not. this is running on a windows 98 machine.

is there any drivers i need for the card itself or will the software cd emco provided us with have what i need? i have installed Winnc but may have done something wrong. i did get alot of errors looking for a particular license. but the software does run. i get a 7017 error at startup which asks for the machine to be moved to its limit switches. i try to jog the machine but no luck.
we also have the fanuc 0 control keyboard, ive just been working on getting the mill to talk to the pc first.

we got the msd disk from emco which was never sent. re- installed software and are now getting error code 8106 pc com card not found. after talking with chad we have been checking the memory area that the card uses. we set the jumpers to use a memory block that is not used by any other hardware, disabled sound and networking cards in bios and still no luck. im starting to lean towards trying this on a different pc all together but want to exhaust all possibilities first.
one thing we did figure out is the card is trying to use more memory then the chart emco provided us with says it should.
any ideas?

I am a tech at a local college, we have purchased 2 Emco Mill 55's. Our setup is that the pc is connected to the mill via the network cable. Don't know if that helps.
