Hi,
I've been using my Emco 340 with an 810 control a bit lately and just had a problem with the hydraulic control system. The problems are as follows and all happened at the same time:
-the spindle won't clamp or unclamp by using the keypad button or through overstore.
-aux off button does not work
-tailstock forward and backward buttons do not work
-spindle motor cooling fan is on even when motor is cool
-goes into aux off mode when in automatic and door is opened even if program is not running
Here's what I did to investigate so far:
-all system voltages are within spec
-hydraulic pump is on and I can unclamp spindle by manually pushing the control valves on the hydraulic unit
-no fuses are blown (none in back cabinet or in control box)
-spindle and all axes work and machine properly homes
-verified that the pushbuttons all work by checking continuity
-no visible fried parts or other damage
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Chris
Trying to figure out what happened I noticed that even with the spindle off there is one LED lit in the spindle load meter. Is it possible that the spindle thinks it is on even though it is not turning? The spindle spins freely. I hit reset multiple times and even set a spindle speed of zero but that one LED is always lit.
I mention this because the multiple issues I am having all at once (can't open spindle or move tailstock, can't press aux-off, hydraulics shut down when door opens in auto mode, spindle motor cooling fan on) can all be explained by a spindle issue rather than some complex hydraulic control system malfunction.
Any ideas anybody?
thanks,
Chris
