Welsoft not recognizing Compact 5CNC - CNCzone.com-The Largest Machinist Community on the net!

Hello,
I recently bought an Emco 5 CNC lathe with the welsoft cable and software and am having issues with the lathe being recognized by the computer. Jogging with the keyboard results in the following error message: " Is the computer connected to the computer and powered on?" The cable is secure, machine is on everything appears to be properly set up. Perhaps it is a problem with com-port settings? I'm running windows XP on the computer. Has anyone encountered this error before?

Maybe try switching to run in 98 mode. To do this right clik ur controller software icon, under properties/compalibility. then select 98 or even 95.

If this doesn't work try an older win 98 pc.
