Exclamation Emco 332 w/Sinumerick 840D

I got a Emco that has the following issues upon powering up. I'm getting an '300200 error - drive bus hardware fault'. All (5) Siemens modules after the NCU have the -X35 fault LED on. I push the Aux on and the hydraulics come up as well as the Bus voltage. After approx. 4 seconds, the machine times out and the bus voltage drops out.

The problem appears to be in one of the axis cards but have swapped them out. It has (5) of the drive bus cable connectors and (1) terminator at the end. I have swapped the connectors around as well as ohming them out. We have ohmed out the terminator (not sure what we should be getting) and it appears ok. If the terminator is removed, we still get the same error.

Any thoughts? Bad terminator??

Terminator

It apprears at this point, the terminator was the culprit. Will do some more T/S'ing and give an update. Looking for E/R module now. (one refurb or scrap unit)

when an axis is ok, the red lamp goes out, and an open contact closes the AS1/AS2 terminals on each axis logic card, they are usually all in series follow this daisy chain and see if any of the drives, spindle or axis are open across these terminals. This serial voltage often drives a safety relay KA1 for example. The voltage comes from the E-R module.

you are right to suspect the E-R module, but it is not always the case.
