    Default Emco PC Turn 105

Well, my plan to "upgrade" my PC Turn 105 to servo and Tormach Path Pilot did not pan out. I purchased everything back in February of this year and to date the servo/PP update was still not operational. During this time I did get the machine 100% proofed and running all the latest software (Fanuc 21T) that can be used and added the USB controller as well as new inner, outer and soft jaws for the chuck. Chad and team at Emco has been great at helping me check everything out and get it 100% operational again.

However, I'm a Tormach guy and my hope was to convert this machine but this has not panned out for me and I'm going to bite the bullet and purchase a Tormach lathe. So, I'll be posting the lathe for sale in the CNC Zone classifieds and on Ebay shortly but wanted to touch base with folks on here first in case someone has interest.

    Thanks,
    Awall

I know you are trying to get rid of this machine, and I would love to have it, but I have a pretty serious question.

Why? Why must you use path pilot?

Your asking price is too high to justify me redoing the controls to 2017 abilities. I would love to have it, but not with 2001 capabilities.

For me it has more to due with what I'm more familiar with. I have a PCNC 1100 mill with the Rapid Turn option. So I jump back and forth between PathPilot mill and lathe mode in both conversational as well as with Fusion 360. Trying to keep track of post processor "tweaks" for both Tormach and Emco gets pretty old.

Curious, you mention that my price is off..... Not to many Emco machines out there in the $6K range that are operational and can be shown running parts. When I purchased this machine it was as a non working machine due to the previous owner not having a clue as to how to set it up.

Either way, it's a great machine if you want to do small parts with extreme accuracy.

For me, and only for me, expand-ability is the key. Being leashed to a 2001 proprietary system, that is a problem, for me. With new controls the limitation would be the upgrading of the software which can run on a computer not limited to operating system, etc.

It may be a good price for someone who will run it as is. I would not.
