Default Converting an Emco PC Turn 105

Well folks, the journey begins! Robert (IronMan on the boards here) and his wonderful wife were coming through on their way back to Ohio and he stopped by to pick up all the parts for the lathe upgrade.

Here is the short list of what we are doing.

Stripping all the motors, drives and controls for X and Z - swapping over to 400watt Yaskawa servo motors and drives.
Gizmosphere on-board computer with solid state drive
    Mesa CNC kit
Tormach PathPilot, jog shuttle and keyboard

As we start getting everything done I'll post some pictures and videos. I'll also post of the overall process and what's needed to complete the project.

    Much more to come!

IronMan has all the electronics and has PathPilot running. Right now he has everything mounted to a test board and is tuning it. In a couple of weeks he is going to be back down in the area and I'll pick up the electronics and start the process of putting it all in the Emco. I'm not going to DC any of the Emco electronics until we know everything works. At that point I'll gut the Emco electronics and replace/re-locate all the parts from the test board. When everything is complete I'll be selling all the Emco electronics/control panel/PC as a package deal.
