replace CRT on charmille roboform 20

hello to all, this my first post here so please be gentle

has anyone tried to replace their old CRT on charmille roboform 20 with a flat screen LCD? i've heard you can do this but not sure as to what's needed.

going thru charmilles is big $$$$$.

Not familiar with Charmilles but it should be possible to replace the monitor.I have a very good tv repairman who can normally fix my monitors very cheaply.For info on replacing with an lcd do a search of the PM website.Don Thomas who runs the site has done a lot of work on this and has posted a lot of very good info in several threads.

you can replace with analog vga monitor, charmilles have 2 VGA ports.
1 port is same with VGA standart

You have to look at your connector in order to help determine possible stardards. If it is CGA or EGA you may consider buying an EGA or CGA to VGA converter card. Google EGA to VGA converter and you will find alternatives.

WE HAVE REPLACED THE CRT ON ROBOFORM 30 WITH AN LCD , JUST PLUG AND PLAY . THE ORIGINAL MONITOR WAS A VGA CRT.

Yes, it is possible.

Few months before we have changed CRT to new LCD. If you want to confirm, just plug the cable into the LCD to see whether it is accepting it or not.

As a word of caution, some times the CRT, while dying, may bring down or fuse the mother board too. Then even though you change the monitor, you cannot see any thing. And some times the bit rate or baud rate may not match and hence you may have to tweak the BIOS of the machine.

Try yourself first and if it doesn't works, call CT.
