new to EDM

have been machining for 20+yrs
need setting help (general)as to types of steel, mostly exotic metals including .5 thick and very thin .125
Inconel and titanium going 2mm deep

EDM in general each brand has different power settings and different call out for each power setting. What type of machine do you have? I dont do a lot of plunge edm but i do know you need alot of off time on Titanuim. The material tends to grow alot if you put too much power on it and you wont see the size change and possible arc issues.

I'm running an SKM (Taiwan) sinker EDM. I'm looking for generic settings as a starting point for exotic metals. Machine is 240 v, 60 amps max. Also depths of cut would be helpful.

Any info is appreciated.

does the machine have a database built into for basic materials? If so post a power setting for graphite into steel.
