EDM Hitachi 304P manual

Hi everyone,
We are having several issues in repairing a Hitachi 304P EDM machine which is in good condition with all its parts.

does anyone know how reliable this machine will be and if possible where can I look for the operating and electronic manuals?

I've got one

I've got the same machine, what seems to be the issue? I do have some of the manuals but have not found wiring diagrams specific to the internal boards.

In the H-CUT 304 we have the axis are moving correctly, itīs in good condition.
However, we cannot cut since there is no voltage.
I believe the big question is around the Power Card (there are 3 of them), has this happened to you before? which type of manuals do you have?
thanks

voltage

First: does it run a dry run of the program?

Second: does the machine edge or center find? that uses a transient voltage around 20 on the meter?

third: if you have the auto wire feeder you need to make sure the "ready" button is pushed and lit before you hit start otherwise no voltage to the wire.

fourth: in the side of the control, below the three power supplies is a circuit panel on hinges. Behind that is a row of other boards, one of those (I can't remember which) handles the signal for wire break and it tells the machine to stop power to the wire. I had to reseat the boards and that fixed the problem for me. it was one of the center boards like "OCCNT" or something like that. hope it helps.

I have all the operation manuals and the fanuc manauls but nothing on wiring

The most important thing is that we are talking about the same machine Hitachi H-CUT 304. Some months ago I contacted Hitachi USA for the manuals and they sent the ones of the H-CUTPS which are not relevant. They say they didnīt have any other ones. If you want I can send you that manual if you need it.

The program runs OK, it switches on, it finds the center, the spools move. The thing is that no current is passing through the wire- when it contacts a material no sparks appear. Do you suggest having a look at the center boards? For the Fanuc control , they told me that by changing an inner circuit board it would be OK.

If the machine is the same as we are speaking perhaps we could exchange operating manuals?
thanks

manuals

Yes I have the same machine but with the auto wire feeder attachment on it. From what you describe it sounds like the board I was talking about in the side.
Right side of the control, behind the circuit board on the hinged panel. I would check all of those connections in there first on board at a time. Send me your e-mail and I can send a PDF of the operation manual eric@epsmachining.com
