Fanuc vs Sodick

Can't compare the two machines for you, but can compare the two organizations. I have 3 Fanucs and a Sodick. The Sodick has had more service issues than all three Fanucs put together. When I do have a Fanuc issue, I call Methods EDM, tell them the problem, they say" you need this or that, we have it in stock, can ship today" Parts arrive the following day, we install them, sometimes being walked through the installation by the Fanuc tech on the phone. Machine works like new. The Sodick, we call Sodick, they say we'll let you know when a tech is available, they may or may not call back, but a tech eventually shows up. Tells us he needs boards. Calls Sodick, they overnite a bunch of boards, the tech stays overnite, he swaps them out them out the next day. Sometimes this fixes the problem, sometimes not. Sometimes it fixes the problem temporarily. Tech returns, sometimes wiggles enough connections to get the machine working, and leaves ( $1800 bill). Problem returns 2 days later. Call Sodick, raise hell, they suggest I trade in on a new Sodick.

In short, no matter HOW good the machine is, I would never buy another Sodick. Want to buy an A325 cheap?

Just like with everything out there you will have some machines that are just rode hard and put up wet. Both Fanuc and Sodicks last a long time but you will get some that are near the end of a usable lifespan for production.
