water ION level help needed

I have recently bought an old brother edm wirecut, i am using ion resin crystals to make the water the correct ion level for cutting,to get the level down is easy, i just enter the value i want and it does its thing. the levels range between 1 and 6, when i am at 1 how do i get the level back to 5,do i have to add more water to the system or with the ionisation unit do it for me?

Seeing as nobody has responded to you yet, I'll take a stab at it. I usually don't worry about it being too "pure". Start cutting and it will increase soon enough. If you really want it higher, then just add tap water to the "dirty" side. I would go slowly though, as to not increase it too much and waste your expensive resin.

thanks for your help,i have cut a few pieces now at a low level and it hasnt efected the fcuytting part
