Hi All: We have a 17 year old machine Robofill 310. The surface finish is not nearly as good now as it was in the first years of operation. We have replaced guides and even the wire brake. Can anyone tell me what other important variables go into this? Thanks, |

| yes - did you recalibrate the brake?? - ensure that the technology is correct. - make sure your injection flushing is still up to spec - water quality (DI) and filters...... - you may need to get your generator section checked out. the cutting pulses may be distorted in some way..... good luck

| Have you checked your electrical contacts in the top and bottom head? Also have you checked the wire tension and the other checks mdynac suggested? If the machine has been well maintained then it's probably a generator issue....expensive! |

| Thanks for the information both. Surface finish has been deteriorating progressively over time (did not happen suddenly). It all points at generator problems. Mdynac, is there a simple diagnostic procedure than can be performed using an oscilloscope? Thanks, |

| i'm sure i have some info on the output pulses of that generator, along with some waveform info, but i gotta find it.... check to see if you can bring up the generator with 120 volts on the wire, not sure which techno that would be, just check in the book. that's a quick partial check of the RUPA to get 80v out and 120 volt out.

| The generator rarely gets reagjusted. You do this when you incoming power is really bad. I mean bad, machine shuts down when incoming power is more than 3 % of what the transformers are set to. And no more than 2% between leggs RST. assuming generator is ok. check both your ground cables and power cables. you should measure resistance. remove the wire from machine, and check resistance from upper power contact, to table graund. you should read between 218 to 222 ohms. if you reaf more...your getting an open, if you get lees resistance. Your going towards a short. machines regardless of who makes them, Their only as good as how their maintained. any questions, email me. sorry for delay. we had a death in family sorrry. |
