I'm looking for some help getting started.
I want to import a dxf into EdgeCAM and generate the required gcode for mach3. At this point I'm not even thinking about the postprocesser, I'm still working on toolpaths and such. After importing the dxf I assume I will have to "Project" the Entities to their proper depth. Are there any steps I'm missing?
Here is the info.
Thanks

Hello Drools,
Follow these steps:
1. Open DXF using Edgecam.
2. Verify that the geometry is correct using the Verify or Measure Distance command.
3. Translate the geometry so you have the origin in the location you want it.
4. Go to Manufacturing Mode.
5. Use Operations to start programming your part.
The operations are a bit more intuitive to work with.
You could also try going to Start > Programs > Edgecam > Edgecam Tutorials, and then working through the 3-Axis Milling tutorial. It should help you out greatly.
