Hello Klaas, That functionality does not exist. If you would like that to exist then contact your local Edgecam reseller and ask that they create an enhancement request describing exactly what you just did. Regards, Jeremiah Stikeleather

Hello, I think it does exist. We have bought 3 Posts for our machines, from the Dutch Edgecam reseller. We tried to use these at another company (with a different license) and it doesnt work. It says that the we are not licensed in the code it generates, and is incomplete. So this is why i think that theres some kind of link in the post. Am I right? Regards Klaas

this may be what you've got, but I'm not sure if it can be user removed. I found the following in a post supplied by an EdgeCAM reseller, supplied to "help" with a machine issue. ( the xxxx's replace customer & vendor names for privacy ) In code wizard : Code Constructor_NC Program General_Program Start This must look at the key for a user name and match it against that listed in the code. ;CODE:#USER20=0 ;CODE:%IF CUSTOMERNAME="xxx xxxxxx Ltd" %THEN #USER20=1 ;CODE:%IF CUSTOMERNAME="xxxxx xxx xxxxx." %THEN #USER20=1 ;CODE:%IF #USER20=1 %THEN %GOTO @GENERATENC You are not authorized to generate NC Code with this Post Processor NC Code generation aborted Please Contact: xxx xxxxx Ltd 123 Your Street Mytown, Zip Country Email : support@xxx xxxxx.com Tel : 1-555-123-4567 Website: www.xxx xxxxx.com ;CODE:%GOTO @ENDPROG ;************************************************************************************** ;CODE:@GENERATENC ;*************************************************************************************** % [PROGID]([PROGDESCR]) (************************************) (* Machine Tool : [MACHINENAME]) (* Part Name : [PARTNAME]) (* Sequence : [SEQUENCENAME]) (* Programmed By : [PROGRAMMER]) (* Date : [DATE]) (* Time : [TIME]) (* Total Machining Time : [CYCLETIME] Minutes) (*************************************) [DELETE][BLKNUM] G0[<C>PLANEGCODE][<C>UNITSGCODE][<C>COMP OFF] G80[<C>ABS-INC] ;CODE: @ENDPROG

It is possible to encrypt files to a license during the compile process. Working posts have value to you - the end user. Think about this: In order to run a machine successfully, someone has put in the work to understand the CAM software, write a post that works, and test it to make sure the required functions work. The more complex the machine, the more work required in the post. Let's say that you did that work - is it worth anything? If I were looking for a post, I would contact my reseller and find out about purchasing the post. If I feel that the value of the post is not worth what the post developer wants for compensation (over-priced), I don't have to purchase it! Edgecam's Code Wizard is a great post development tool that a knowledgeable end user can write good posts with, and it's a standard part of every Edgecam license!

| I was in a post class a couple of years ago and asked for that exact feature. They (at that time) told me it couldn't be done. Keying off of the customers name and creating a conditional statement to check for that string, seems like an interesting work around. Until you find someone willing to "dig" into the code, to change the string to a different company. Mike Mattera
