Is it possible to edit a compiled "Code generator"

Hello,

I have the following question:

Is it possible to edit a compiled "code generator" (or "postprocessor")?

If yes, how do I do this?

Greets,
Klaas

Hello,
The short answer is no.

You would be better off creating a new post using Code Wizard.

Jeremiah

Hello Jeremiah,

So the short answer is no, is there a long answer too?

I'm new to creating new posts myself with Code Wizzard, and so it will take me some time to create a completely new one. We allready own a few (compiled) posts. If I would be able to edit these, or even see what is programmed in it, it would be easier for me to create new ones.

Is there a way?

Regards,
Klaas

The long answer is to buy the Code Generator Compiler and then you can edit the inner workings of the post (at the core of the language).

You'd think it would be the other way around wouldn't you? If your daring enough to edit the language here it is for free, but if you want the simpler Code Wizard/Post Generator, it's additional money.

Hello Mike,

Your answer isnt completely clear to me.

With "Code Generator Compiler" and "the simpler Code Wizzard/ Post Generator", do you mean de standard Code Wizzard (with compiling option) that comes with standard Edgecam?

Or is it a different program?

We allready own Edgecam with its Code wizzard, you see.

Regards,
Klaas

Code Generator Compiler is an option. Lets you edit the code inside the posts (The posts are stored in a binary format). Requires that you learn the postprocessor language and command structure.

Code Wizard/Compiler is standard. It's the graphical post interface. Creates post by picking off of a template and filling in your machine information. This makes writing posts easier, therefore, you would think it would be the option. (i.e. Pay more to make post writing easier).
