Forget where I got this. I have not tried it (sold my Mach3 based machine) but you are welcome to it. Personally, I found creating a post with the code wizard one of the easiset aspects of using EdgeCAM.

thanks very much. my problem is ive never used any of the code wizards and have never been taught so im not really sure what im doing. will this code need edited then beofre it could be used as a mach 3 post processor? the person that works the edgecam at my university has been away however at least i have something to show him and see if he knows what he is doing!!! thank you for your help. hopefully i can make some progress with this post processor!! dont understand why they cant all be the same! haha
cheers
If you download the Mach3 manual from machsupport.com, it will show you the proper syntax for Mach3. Compare that to the code output by the postprocessor I provided. If you discover improperly formated code, open the mach2.cgd template with the code wizard, find the cycle that is not being output correctly and change it, then recompile the post and try reposting the code from edgecam. You do not have to save your changes to the template if you are not sure.

hi joe, i looked at the mach3 manual, not really sure what the syntax was ( im useless at this programming stuff ) but from what i can see the only problem may be the tool change and tool home parts. when i make it in edgecam they dont seem to move away from the part however i believe you can change this manually if you want so i wouldnt have to alter the g-code?? not sure. im going to have a go trying to run it in the software even with that not entirely sure what im doing. ill see how it goes and let you know though. cheers.
