how about a retract plane in the roughing cycle for when a person is milling with a rotary head.

hypermill!!!

Okay for 3d machining of solid models, but give it something trick with 5 axis and its a load of junk, it takes ages to calc out, check surfaces only work with paths and not rapid links inside a cycle (major problem) you can't limit an area with boundries in 5x, maybe if they'd developed the software themselves instead of buying it in you'd get some proper support, the simulator grinds to a halt with large paths so you can't use it (pretty pointless with 5 axis). The list of problems with edgecam is endless, in fact, they should be paying their customers a support contract to help them discover all the problems. Wish i'd taken a different route years ago but i didn't so i'm stuck with it.

I'd like a new adaptive Siemens post in the new version!

Cool

I would like to see some path control in the mill roughing cycles, start location, direction etc.

I wish they would rewrite the superseeded Mori-Seiki SL template, to make it work with a Mori-Seiki SL.
I have grown tired of trying to make a post for milling on my SL150-lathe.

Btw. turning is fine, and Radial Cylindrical (G107) is fine, too, but milling by G112/G113 is really poor.

Mori SL post

I did a post for the Mori SL2500 the other day, Kai_DK, and it milled and thread milled axially ok using G12.1. I used the adaptive-generic-iso template to get started.

In reply to WayneHill, 2010R1 is now out and there is also a service pack SP1 available.
