On your profile page go to the lead tab and select the type to vertical then you can adjust the lead in radius or change it to a angle and a set length and over ride the feed rate if you need to.
Well, I'm definitely a newbie again.
I have a pocket that I would like to cut out by simply running a contour around the inner walls -there will be a little island in the middle, which will fall out when I'm done, but if I use the roughing cycle/operation, EdgeCAM puts in these little swirl moves - without them the program is shorter by a minute or two - serious time when you think about a couple of hundred runs.
However, if I use a profile cycle/operation, there is no option for a ramp entry. How do I cut a contour with a ramped entry?
On your profile page go to the lead tab and select the type to vertical then you can adjust the lead in radius or change it to a angle and a set length and over ride the feed rate if you need to.
Thank you - that was a great help. Now I have another problem.
On the first two passes, nice ramp approach. On the last pass - plunge.
Also, I have to specify both an angle and a length - is there a way to make the program do whatever length is necessary - along a curve or whatever, without doing the trig to figure out the length of the approach?
It's a 2d continuous arc loop with 4 radii, if that matters.
try changing the value in the links tab for your short link distance to stop the plunge feed on the last cut, and i dont know of any other way for the for the link appproach to be inserted.
