Best method for changing product orientation of part.

When we program a Milling part in edgecam and we have to change the orientation of the part (due to added holes machine type change or revision change) from X to Y axis we have to completely reprogram the part.

What is for edgecam the best procedure to change the product orientation.

Make a new CPL or choose from one of the standard CPL.
You really dont change the orientation of the product but changing the way you look at it. IOW you change/choose the CPL (same as zeropoint)

Cannot Compute

We mostly program parts with 3 or more index moves and Cpls

And therefore cannot change the orientation like you describe when there are features found and cycles applied.

I believe when editing your initial cpl, all index moves to the sister cpl's will automaticly reallign with your machinetoolaxes.

You could create another set of cpl's and modify your index cycles.

Is rotating your geometry an option for you in this case?

I`ve changed the location of my part after all the machining instruction was done. What I had to do was go back into the design side of the program , go to the edit column, and use the translate command. make sure that you select everything on your part (all layers that contain information to the part must be turned on) . when I used it I used it on a part in the rotary that was not in the center of the rotary, everything moved but the containment fields, which had to be redone and the cycles that used the containment fields need to be redone also. not to sure how it will work with the rotate command but one of the features of edgecam is that it is suppose to update the drawing and make corrections to the machining process. Using the X Y Z mating offsets when selecting a machine seems to do absolutely nothing to moving the part it just putts the graphics in a different place.
