Milling Text character "Ø"

I cant get edgecam to display the Character "Ø" in

Designmode->Menu-> Geometry -> Text

Why? i have tried all asci codes.

It is not an ASCII character, at least I think not. It is found in some True type font sets though.

Alt 0216 is the ASCII code for Ø. You have to use True type, not vector type!

Are you sure? It doesn't look like that to me, ALT 237 looks similar but not exactly the same since it is Greek letter Phi

But maybe different keyboard layouts show it differently?

Wow, that is a new one on me. I've always used http://www.asciitable.com/ but I notice the difference is a zero in front of the character number in the table you referenced, but no zero in my table:
216 = ╪
0216 = Ø
So what is up with that? I thought there were 256 characters and that was it?

Wiki gives a good run down on ASCII and Extended ASCII; it appears all ASCII characters are equal but some ASCII characters are more equal than others (to mangle an analogy).
