Edgecomms and Windows Vista

Our DNC system uses EdgeCAM Comms to transfer programs to a networked archive. Now that we are upgrading our shopfloor PC's from NT to Vista we have hit problems. Managed to transfer from PC to control (Fanuc 11M) after adjusting baudrates but cannot transfer from control to PC. Started with framing error, got rid of that by increasing the Receive baudrate on the PC but the screen remains blank. Tested the port and it shows the data passing through OK.

Has this problem raised it's head anywhere else?

You upgraded to Vista? You poor chap. Just kidding.

Try changing the PC serial com port to turn off the advanced 16550 Uart settings.

Did anyone mess with the TV setting on the control?

Fanuc alarm

Our maintenance guys change it to work on other systems and forget to change it back.

The only thing that changed was the operating system? All wiring is the same?

Yes, all the same. You are right about vista though, had a few problems in the programming dept. as well although it settled down eventually.
