    importing tools

I need a custom groving tool for a job, and i made up a model using solid edge CAD, to make a tool and a holder. I can import both, move CPL's to where i need them using the Define cutter/holder graphics, but whem it asks me to select entities to to define cutter graphics, it wont let me digitise anything on the part. Any ideas?

You need to project the edges of the tool to the CPL plane that is being used, it will only select wire frame entities. Hope this helps.

when you say project edges, is that projecting edges like in Inventor CAD? if so, how would you do that?

Use the Solids menu, Geometry and check the Edges and Individual Curves. Ensure that the edges are copied to the same "0" Z level as the Cutter Graphic CPL.
