Hi guys,

Advanced depends on where your standing. For some people, just learning the system is advanced . I'm trying to build a library starting with, Understanding The Interface, Milling & Solid Machinist and now Turning Applications.

This CD includes my custom TStore in 2 formats. The old .MDB format (pre-V12) and a newer SQL TStore (V12 +). The new one is a backup of my library and It goes thru the process of importing the backup and selecting which library to use.

Hi Mike, I bought the edgecam solid machinist/orientation and design combo package. It's been very helpful. I was also wondering about the new sql database, as version 12 is the only version I have. I'm new to CAM, but familiar with solidworks.

The TStore in the new Lathe CD is an improved version of the TStore that came with the Milling & SMachinist CD.

You should be able to convert the .MDB file you have (Mill CD) into the SQL format.

If your asking the benefits of the SQL vs. the older .MDB format of database.... You've got me. It seems that could have used that energy to improve the way Edgecam deals with tools vs changing a DB format that no one seems to care about. I have yet for any one to say "The new SQL is better because..." It created a lot of problems for people trying to get it working, when they switched to V12. I had to futz around with everyone of my PC's to get it working. And then when it was all done, it looked and worked exactly the same as before.

Any way... This new Lathe CD has an improved TSTore saved as a backup in the SQL format (for users of V12 +) and another TStore in the older .MDB format for V11.75 and lower. All of the lessons should work for anyone using V10 & up.

MDB DATABASE FORMAT IS BEING PHASED OUT GLOBALY.... EDGECAM NEEDED TO ADAPT .... SEQUEL STILL SUCKS.... IT SEEMS TO TAKE LONGER TO 'POP UP' WHEN I GO TO FIND A TOOL.

mike
do you have anything that deals with 5th axis programming?
i'm in the process now of trying to figure it out by playing with the samples.

not being sure what my code should look like makes it tough to work on the code generator.

are there any use of cycles in 5 axis or is it all operations?
