| working with solids I'm almost ashamed to ask. I've created a solid in PartModeler 11.5, and then brought it into edge cam. Go thru the normal stuff to start laying out the milling operations. For the first operation, I want to center drill. When I choose the hole operation, there are no points that I can select. I can choose rough, and everything is selectable, but under hole, nothing is. When creating, I created a rectangle, extruded it, then placed a circle on top, and cut thru all. Now, I have a square solid with 1 hole completely thru it. Save, close, open in edgecam 11.5 and I can't drill it?? i've never run into this before. What am I doing wrong? |

| If you created it in the Modeler you should have a solid. Do a Feature Find on the solid and find the Holes and Contours. You will be able to drill the hole feature instead of geometry "points". Have you had any training on Edgecam? You might want to consider these. http://www.tipsforcadcam.com/store/2...ategory/353295 Mike Mattera

| Mike, this might sound bad off the start. but.... I was almost annoyed by the way you post a little something about your services non stop. Everytime I turn around, I keep seeing you pushing your training for edgecam and mastercam. It wasn't until yesterday that I read a thread where somebody was trying to do a flowline path, and was asking for help. What I expected, was you to plug your site again. check these out.... etc. What I got, along with everybody else who wants to see it, are 3 different videos, 3 different ways to accomplish the same thing. It caused a shift in my mentality. Mike, I'm thankful for what you do here. I've just started at work, and I'm quick to pick up things. The programs are just so complex that it's hard to know what you need to do without some direction. I will be buying some training from you, as soon as possible. Like I said. I just started back to work. Once again, thank you for helping everybody here. The time your videos save in the learning process more then pay for them. I know I've cost my business more then the price of one video within the last 2 weeks of fumbling thru edgecam. |
