Manuals for postprocessor

I wish to ask
Is there any book or manual about language for write and edit postprocessor.
I see code wizard it is only interface for such language.
I find some pages about Code wizard but it is information mainly for dummy or beginner. Real code in *.*xt file. In order to put a correction I must understand how it work.

Hi ak762,
I have found best way is to get the post the best you can using wizard and then edit .mxt or .cxt file, you do need the post processor compiler option to then compile that file into an .mcp or .tcp file, if you do this though you cannot go back to wizard to make alterations. There is a comprehensive help file in the compiler tab.
Regards
Steve

Ha-ha

Thank mikewsk2, now at least I know that such info present

I typed my question at board becouse at my Q for local reseller I got tricky answer

My Q
Could you explain
why your company do not share information about manuals of postprocessor?

I understand you earn a money at persons who not familiar with postprocessor But we pay for Edgecam soft, I can read and learn it by myself why we must to get additional courses ?
Answer
Hei!

This is because we have some experience with customers that do things in the postprocessor that is wrong. Then we have to do a lot off cleaning in the postprocessor to make it work agene.

So it is to make sure the quality is perfect in the postprocessor.

Post help

I am not a genius. I was sold on the gui interface for post processes but now I am really regreting it and longing for some simple posts that work correctly without modification. I wish there was a simple book one could follow and straight forward explanations from my dealer...

adding turrent

In version 12 it has to do with which "template" you chose, after you select lathe it asks a few questions, one is c and y axis. check it and it should change the graphic a bit

Cool

i agree that edgecam should offer all the instruction needed for all of the software and software options they offer instead of just the basic functionallity...i think they should provide video tutorials on everything (thats a seperate thread all together)

but to edgecams defense... it is probably impossible to create a perfect post for any of us... we all have our own individual opinions of how our post is created..looks..and even feels for each of our machines.
thats probably why they charge for building them.. because they usually are tailored to fit not only the machines needs but also the needs of the machinist as well....
