Inventor Ext Threads into EdgeCAM

Any one had success with importing Autodesk Inventor part files with an external thread feature into EdgeCAM? We're using release 11 of both products and have only been able to bring-in parts with internal threaded features. Thanks!

are you talking about something like threaded pipe? edgecam cannot see external threads at all.

Yes, it is a similar part. It is a Gland for a hydraulic cylinder. Our dealer of EdgeCAM assures us it can be done but the fault may be with Inventor. Even if we had to use some third party software or look-up database, we could learn to manage.

Perhaps your reseller has misunderstood you but EdgeCAM cannot see external threaded pipe. It can see tapped holes and bring in that data from Inventor.
