| EdgeCAM Features Hey All, I’m another on the endless quest for a decent CAM application. I would really like to know what you guys like about EdgeCAM. This package looks promising. I’m working on a demo but what I see that I like so far is the hole recognition (feature), solidworks associativity, and the strategy manager. Can anyone give input on: Multi axis, specifically MTM, machining. Difficulty in learning. So far the software looks relatively simple re layout, some programs have so many layers that you really have know what’s going on. Software stability. Does it like to crash? Support and service. Any other input. Thanks! JB |

| If you want to machine from a solid model, nobody does it better. They keep associativity to the original solid. Most other systems "convert" the solid into their oun format and them you do toolpath on that. Edgecam detects changes to the original model and will update your toolpath to accomidate the changes. Seems very stable. Support depends on the dealer. Factory support is slim. That's why I'm working on some training videos for Edgecam. Standardized training on real world parts. My first video is out for System Orientation & Introduction. http://www.tipsformfg.com/html/ec_orientation.html Mike Mattera
