Few months ago i posted asking how Edgecam can sort out pre shape parts on a lathe. After following all the advices, im getting toolpathes which are not different with the one i get when im machining a full cylinder shape, thus getting too much of air cut.
Can someone help me STEP BY STEP, with a simple sketch, how to get ride of these air cut?
thanks in advance
Not sure if you figured this out. Look in the help file under "billet defining"
They have an explanation. I do it a little different.
I usually draw the forging or casting, then select geometry, offset ( check "continuous") and pick a small offset amount. What results will be recognized as a valid stock body. When you define the rough turning cycle, snap to the billet as your start position.
