Red face Can i import g-codes in edgecam to simulate?

    Hello.

    I wonder on something.

If i write a program on my machine, can i "import" it in EdgeCAM and run a simulation or something?

EdgeCAM does not do true backplotting. The verify in EdgeCAM works off of the tool paths generated inside of EdgeCAM. EdgeCAM does not make the G-code first and then calculate the animation. The same holds true for MasterCAM. There are programs out there that will do what you are asking though. If you want a full 3D animation, you will probably have to pay. If you just want to see the tool paths, there are some freeware/shareware programs that will do it.

If you've got a *nix machine handy, load up EMC2 and use it's back plotter.

If you only have a Windows machine handy, load up the brain dead install of Linux/EMC2 and run that without installing it.
