| Hello. When i draw my own tools in Edgecam, and run a simulation. The graphics are so slow... Use a minute to get around the material instead for one sec... The pc is new, and made for cad/cam.. And its just a 8mm v-bit 90 degrees... Robert.

| Wherever possible, DO NOT USE DRAWN IN TOOLS. Very rarely do you need to actually draw in a tool, 95% of the time you can define it in the toolstore. For a 90deg V bit just define it as a taper tool, you have to (should) enter all the info in there anyway so that Edgecam knows what type of tool it is. The drawn in profile is only for graphics, edgecam uses the entered data for toolpath calculation. If you must use tool graphics there are several things you can try to get things running faster. Use only wire frame tools Make sure acceleration and advanced openGL are active in edgecam and also in your hardware setup. Check that you simulate tolerance isn't set too small. I have mine permanently set at 0.01MM. Check there isn't anything big running in the background. At work simple stuff goes very quickly but as soon as you start adding tools with more complex forms, like high feed tools, things can slow down quite a bit, particularly with complex tool paths. |
