Hello everyone, I am pretty new at Edgecam and I have mixed feeling about. on one hand the software is very easy to learn on the other I have not been very sucessful at outputting good code. Which brings me to my question. I am in desperate need of a post for a Kitamura 4xif Fanuc 18M control with indexing head (Nikkens).Let me give you guys some detail about our setup. Our indexing heads are set for one revolution 0-360. The reason for that is that my boss hate the rewinding part of it. Much of the stuff we do require rotary interpolation of more than 360-deg. As a matter of fact a lot of them go over 10 rev. In that case we use incremental programing. I have been trying to build my own post from scratch with very little suceess. Threre are only three templates in code wizzard and very little setting one can manipulate. i have also been looking for info online but once again not much success. Our Edgecam Rep. wants to charge a ridiculous amount of money to makes us one. Which is not a solution for us since that kind of customization most likely not work with the next release. I am also very dissapinted that they don't include a Good Fanuc 4X template with their software. I appreaciate any help you guys can provide. Thanks in advance. Xknight. |

| I can´t say 100% sure the command exist in fanuc but in heidenhein there is a M code to make the mashine trunkate all the extra degrees that are winded up after doing maybe 10 x 360. the you dont have to wait for the mashine to rotate back 10 x 360 when you are done. About the post processor there was a few on the yahoo group but usually the changes on a premade post and the changes to a pure new template are almost the same amount. |

| Thank you, tummen for your response. I was aware of the M code. Some of the older controls we had , such as Dynapath, had that option. Fanuc, on the other hand , at least the ones we have, 18M, 16M, 31i, do not have that option. Still good to know you understood my problem. Thanks again. |
