    Path on for cutter comp?

I am new to edgecam.Say, if I have left 0.2mm(milling) for finish cut, what would you use for a typical lead on path for comp to come on. Would you lead on with a small rad and straight lead? Are there any set procedures you use? does it depend on the control?Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Most machine tool controls don't like turning on comp while in circular mode. I like to turn on comp in a short straight line non-cutting move, then arc onto the contour with a radius slightly larger than that of the cutter being used. Usually. On occasion this will change.... Oh, and also on the other end, sweep off the contour with the same arc and turn off comp in the same straight line non-cutting move.
