I know this is a newb question, but what does "Open profile ignored" mean? I get this message after I define operations for a roughing operation, and the simulation will not run for that operation. Profiling and slotting operations are fine, but I get the message every time when defining rough. Any tips would be appreciated, I'm very new at this. Oh,and it's edgecam 2010. Thanks. |

| Not sure but this might be your problem Roughing takes place within a boundary, so when edgecam complains that you have an open profile this means that theres a hole somewhere in your profile. Example: You draw a circle and then you select roughing and select the circle, this will work because you have a closed area that needs to be machined. But if you draw a line and then select roughing on this it wont know what to do, the profiling and slotting operation will work because they follow this line. So check your geometry, it's possible that when you made the boundary/profile you missed a connection somewhere. |
