    Default KMotion CNC Keeps ZEROING!

I keep finding random nuances about Kmotion that will really drive me crazy. Sometime when I am setting up a program I realize a tool offset is wrong in the table. Like you would on any other controller you adjust the offset and write to the table. The only problem now is right when this happens Kflop will zero my machine @ that location. Then when the program resumes everything is whack and the machine crashes. What is going on? Why do edits to the tool table zero the machine origin?

    Hi Elocremarc,

I'm not aware of any such issue. What Version are you using?

Do you have anything configured for M6 (Tool Change) ?

Do you have the Tool Setup Option "M6 on Tool Table Changes" set?

Do you have the Tool Setup Option "Tool Length/Offset Immediately" set?

Can you describe a sequence that causes the problem?

Are the KFLOP Axes showing all zero on the KMotion.exe Axes Screen?

I believe I am using the most current version form the website I just updated it a few weeks ago. Running M6,G49,G43 all work fine in programs. It is when I edit the tool table. Sometimes I will do this mid program at some M0 or even a simple pause command. I realize that the value in the tool table is off by some amount. In order to fix this I will edit the tool table with a new H value. However once I hit ok on the tool table the entire machine origin goes to 0,0,0. It seems to happen all the time.

    Hi Elocremarc,

I'm not able to cause KFLOP to Zero. Please check what Version you are running and what M6 is configured to do (I'm not sure what default might be).

But here is one issue that may be confusing. GCode has 3 words for Tools. "T" "H" and "D"

With the option Tool Setup Option "Tool Length/Offset Immediately" set, KMotionCNC assumes that whenever the Tool Dropdown Selector is selected or the Tool Table is altered that both T and H should be set to the selected Tool and G43 applies the Length/Offset for that Tool.

    So for example:

#1 your GCode sets M6 T1 and H5 G43 (Tool 1 is loaded and Tool 5 length offset is in use)
    #2 GCode stops
#3 You edit the Tool Table with T1 selected
#4 Tool 1 is reloaded and Tool 1 length offset is now applied

Could this be what you are observing?

Hey sorry... I looked back at M6 in Kmotion it was calling up my main C program hence the zeroing. Problem Solved! Thanks for the pointers you have been a great help when needed!
