    Question for Tom
    I am looking for a lathe retrofit and the question is:

    considering the max spindle velocity as 3000 Rpm, what is the right spindle encoder steps/revolution needed for not to exceed the Kflop input bandwidth

    Hi Beppe,

    1MHz / 50 revs/sec = 20000 quadrature counts/rev maximum

    Or 5000 lines or cycles/rev
