so running kmotion is now faulting a lot again
runs fine for a couple minutes and then one of 2 things happens
1 the kmotion will stop and the axis values turn yellow. the program is almost locked up. all the buttons and any input is very lagged. if i just try to hit the "init" button or any others the program starts to spins in circles and will say it has stopped working
2 a promt of the kflop has lost connection. still plugged in though
nothing has changed from any other day. kflop or the computer is always on and nothing is set to auto update
i dont think the usb cable would be at fault. the program does not lock up if i just unplug it while in kmotion.
the program dies in no repeatable position or other reason
computer is pretty new and mid grade build for this. it does nothing else....
i try and open the dynomotion program when the kmotion stops working and it wont even open.
i am running 4.33k version for a year or more now every day with no issues
can the dynomotion telll me where or why connection was lost or why the program faulted? on the console or something

as a test
kflop has it own pc power supply, i unplug the usb and replug it crashes the program on win7.
force close and reopen and its fine.
this seem normal?
i had dynomotion up in the backround to see if it says anything after the crash... nothing
what are the chances the new version would remedy this?

How is the pc supply your using for k-flop connected to power? Also how is it placed in your enclosure? Have you tested your power supply to see if it may be causing the issue? Have you tried a different usb cable no longer then 6 feet long? Is there anything you changed or added recently that in any way coincides with the problems your facing?

it is just a power supply for a pc i cut the end and wired up the molex connector to kflop. other end is factory 3 prong in a surge protector
power has a touch over 5v all the time
i have a plastic enclosure with a ply wood backer i attach stuff to
usb is 3 footer now. if i unplug while running it gives a different fault than what i get while trying to be productive
i never touch anything unless it acts up. lol
thanks for the reply i am going nuts

It always sucks when your machine stops working for no apparent reason. If you can go ahead and upgrade to 433 final version. I doubt it will help but you never know. Also I just saw they added a digitally signed driver you can download from the Yahoo group. When you change versions try setting up using a different usb port if possible. Also make sure the port is set not to disable for energy savings. That's all I can think of for now. Tom may have some ideas. If I think of anything I post back.
Ben
thanks
what is a digitally signed driver?
my mother board has 3.0 usb on it. i think i have to set it up in the bios though. my mouse does nothing when plugged into it....

A digitally signed driver means you no longer have to turn off driver signature enforcement to install kmotion. As for the Yahoo forum Tom posted the driver here also yesterday so no need to go there.
