| I am just going to let the cat out of the bag here. For Fabtech this year we have LASER. 100-400W Co2. Video on our videos page. You may now start drooling. Cut kerf .0025". Much fun but sorry it's not cheap stuff. Just thought our faithful freinds here on the "zone" would love to know this. More details later. DT engineering. |

| Lasers 2nd most asked question. I will see if you can guess the first. 100 Watt - $40K 240 Watt - $60K 400 Watt - $100K I did warn you. There is a LOT of equipment required along with the beam delivery system. None of the parts are cheap. Big DC power supply, RF supply, Water chiller, etc. |

| Laser Bingo! Sure enough. The single most popular question when the word "laser" is mentioned is the one you asked. How thick? Well of what? Acrilic Plastic? ABS? Wood? PVC? Airbag material? Rubber? Cork? Gasket material? Steel? Stainless? Aluminum? To answer that would require a huge list matrix of size vs materials. Instead, you will find a useful tool online. Go to synrad.com and select "laser basics" at the bottom of the page . Then download the free calculator on the right next to "how much power do you really need?" Select a laser Watt rating and material. Then enter a thickness. If you go to far it will tell you. It will also give you a feedrate for that. It sure beats a few rough numbers. |
