PID Tuning Screenshots

Could anyone post a sceenshot of their PID tuning values from Setup->Machine Settings->Tuning? Here's what I have;

The align button allows you to touch the corners of the plate, and if the plate is askew relative to the system the current file is rotated to fit on the plate. Our backstop is very level with the X-axis though so I honestly have yet to use the align button.

That screen shot is from XP.

The reason I was asking for some PID tuning screen shots is that after the last time the machine was tuned by DynaTorch all 4-axes still felt a little rough. The guys at Dynatorch said the K-differential could go up to a maximum of 2000. So I stepped up to 2000 on the X master/slave and Y in increments of 100. This yielded pretty dramatic results in the edge-wobbling that I was getting, but the motors still felt rough. I've now tuned the X-axes to where they feel very smooth and make near-perfect cuts, I did this using methods outlined in online guides for manual PID tuning. The Kp is now up to 63 on all axes, and the Ki is down to 16, but the Y-axis still seems a little rough.

I'm cutting very intricate pieces out of 1/4" frequently and as the tuning has progressed it seems like I've narrowed the vibration to specific angles/curves. Additional tuning can push the chatter from one angle to another, so at one setting I'll get edge-chatter at 5 degrees-7 degrees, and at another tuning I'll get edge-chatter at 12-15 degrees, or on specific arcs, etc. but I can't seem to get the whole thing to cut uniformly.

I was hoping someone else might have done some very fine tuning and could share their results with me, although I doubt many have tampered with it as it is strongly recommended against doing so in the manual, a fact which caused me severe reluctance to alter the settings initially.

Hi Kyle

When i first seen your post i was'nt sure what you were looking for, but now that you mention vibration i can relate to that. I have had what i thought was vibration with mine also and have tried different things to try and correct it but nothing has really worked, it cuts nice but i see other guys cuts and mine look rough compared to them, especially with fine cut consumables.... the cuts are straight and all, but not smooth, more so in different direction compared to others.... at first i thought it was a alignment issue, but its true, it seems runs smooth in fast traverse but when slowed down you can feel the motor vibrating, im not home for another month or so but will look into when i get there and reply again..

Thanks
EDD

Out of curiosity, is the vibration harmonic or erratic? Has anyone tried to weight the gantry at specific places with any improvement?
