    re establishing arc

Another newbee question. Is there a way to re start a cut after a pierce? I have been all over the settings and have not had any luck. Once the plasma pierces and the cut is stopped for some reason, I can't re establish the arc because of the pierced hole. There has got to be something I am missing.

if i read it correct, what i do is lay a chunk of thin metal on top of the area already pierced and restart the cut, when with THC the torch runs off the chunk it lowers itself to the sheet im cutting.... not sure if this is what you meant though...

Yea, I was looking/thinking there was a way to move while in pilot arc to re estiblish the cut in the settings. I usually do things the hard way. Thanks
