Hi frequency start plasma and a Dynatorch

    Hello,

I have a Dynatorch servo operated X,Y, Z axis cutting table and a Thermal Dynamics cutmaster 100 MANUAL plasma cutter (circa 2003). I was told that the high frequency start from my cutter could blow the controller box as well as the servo motors unless I introduce some voltage regulators between them. Also, I was told that with my plasma cutter, I would never be able to get the Z axis to work because my plasma cutter has no way to monitor voltage at the torch (which is how the controller adjusts height).

Does anybody have any experience using a hi freq start plasma cutter with a servo actuated cutting system?

    Thanks for any help,

    John
