| I have a DynaTorch 4x8 machine with a Hypertherm Powermax 1250 G3 and the T80M machine torch. I'm looking for help with some REAL WORLD mild steel and maybe some aluminum cut settings, the ones in the manual are way off, does anyone have a chart they have made that works well with the Dynatorch controler and a Hypertherm 1250 g3 amd T80M torch. Also maybe some cut height suggestions. I currently use sheetcam it seems to be just fine for cutting and scribing. Any good suggestions would be apreciated. anyone have 10ga mild steel settings that worked well with the same system as I have??What consumables? Thank You, Mark |

| Krams976, Try the Hypertherm settings, they are 99 out of 100 times spot on. Maybe adjust a volt or two up as your nozzle wears to keep the distance. 10ga is pretty much the top for quality cuts using the fine cut parts, 40amp regular parts might be a little too fast and show some jaggies. Remember to use the low volt setting when using fine cut parts. http://files.me.com/izonltd/h6tpy2 Here is a pdf of a chart I put together a couple of years ago. WSS

| WSS is correct...the listings inthe Hypertherm manual are the ones to use. If you say they are way off....then something is being done incorrectly....or there is something wrong with your system. Make sure you are using the Mechanized cutting parameter charts. The pierce height, cut height, pierce delay time, amperage and optimum cut speeds are pretty much dead on for all materials thicknesses. The arc voltage setting is a suggested starting point....as different torch height controls and different machines all can have different calibration settings. Set all parameters and when the cut is underway adjust the arc voltage so that the cut height (physical distance between the torch shield and the plate) is as listed in the Hypertherm cut charts. If the torch is too high....reduce the voltage until it is correct...then it will remain at the proper height....as long as the suggested cut speed is maintained. If you can get back with the issues you are having (cut quality, torch diving, consumable life, etc., I'd be happy to work with you to get it dialed in. 10 gage mild steel 40 amp shielded consumables Shield.....120930 Retaining Cap....120928 Nozzle....120932 Electrode....120926 Swirl Ring....120925 Amperage....40 Pierce height.....125" (2x cut height or 1/8") Pierce delay......5 seconds Cut Height......06" (1/16") Optimum speed....98 inches per minute Arc Voltage....146 volts (adjust during steady state cutting to maintain .06" cut height You can also cut with better quality using the FineCut consumables Deflector shield....220404 Retaining Cap....120928 Nozzle....220329 Electrode....120926 Swirl Ring....120925 Amperage....40 Pierce height.......16" (2x cut height) Pierce delay......5 seconds Cut height.....08" Cut speed.......50 inches per minute Arc voltage....83 volts (adjust durring steady state cutting to maintain .08" cut height) Hope this helps.
