    Cool Dyna or Torchmate?

I have read and talked to both parties. Salesmen make everything sound great. I have always(well not always ) leaned towards the Dynatorch. They seem more sincere. I just want an honest comparison or opinion. It has been almost a year looking into this, would like a machine to cut 1/4 inch machine parts and to use it for artwork in the off season, so it will be a full time machine if possible. Any suggestions will be helpful. Thanks all, Doh

    Hey Homer,

The Dynatorch comes standard with servo motors, precision gear boxes and a steel gantry. In order to get these features on a Torchmate you must purchase their top of the line Torchmate XS2 model otherwise you get stepper motors and an aluminum gantry.

Compare the standard features for each (especially the software) and the picture will become clear.

I am new here this is my first reply. Much as anyone, I did all the research on a CNC plasma machine. I looked for several years at all the brands, called all the manufacturers, and seemingly was more confused with the more I learned about each machine. I just completed the install of the Dynatorch table I bought and I feel I made the best decision. I had narrowed it down between 3 companies.

A big factor to me, even though there were several deciding factors, was that they are fairly close to me geographically. After I had purchased the machine and arranged for on site training, several things made me even happier I had made the decision for a Dynatorch. For me the options I purchased, and the quality of these options is what really pushed me towards them.

If you are new to CNC equipment, it is very confusing, even though you try to do your research. Whatever your choice, good luck!

Homer, you are in the DT side of the forum, so most responses will be from DT users/owners. It would be great to hear from anyone who has operated both. Which TM would you consider?

I can say that the DT tech support (Leon) is the best I have ever encountered, CNC or ANY type of support period. That type of support cannot be scoffed at either, it has big value.

WICKED, glad to hear you did the DT thing. What are you cutting? The DT does gauge to thick plate equally well.

Pure Powder, can you post a screen shot of your software after it has initialized? I am curious to see if it is similar to the DT software, seeing that it uses the Animatics servos.

Fastcut buys all there electronics from Dynatorch and install them on there own machines, i talked to the owner 3 years ago and he explained to me that DT has the best system on the market and thats why they use it for there own machines, if you look at there screen shot on there web site you will see it is identical to DT. They make a nice table but i found them rather expensive at that time..

Morvaman , you could be right there , I ordered a 4x8 Icon series table and It is running candcnc setup. I never paid attention to what they where running there new G6 table with... All though they did have one set up when I was at there location and it is as nice looking and well build as it looks on the website. Just a little more money than I wanted to spend on a Hobby.
