I have looked over this forum and it is full of information. I don't see anything on one-time downloading and I only need a quick answer, I hope. I have made a cable for someone using just the 3 needed wires and the jumpers on both ends. What I really need to know is how to help him set up the parameters and the keystroke process to download a program. Not DNC, just a one time download to memory. I want to send the program below just to test communication. How do you change or check the appropriate parameters? Are there any to change or is it only machine default? Is there anyway to get a scan of the manual that outlines the button by button process on the control side? I can tell him how to use the software to send but I don't know how to get the machine ready, then receive, then call it up. Thanks! Is this written correctly: % (SAMPLE) N10(9)T10M03S2000E01 N20(0)G00X0Y0Z.25 N30(9)M30 % |

No, not correct. You show EIA programing with the conversational format. % (SAMPLE) N10(9)T10M03S2000E01 N20(0)X0Y0Z.25 N30(9)M30 % I think Mode select 6 was communication. Pull up the screen, it's all there. Easy. THIS IS IF A DELTA control. A System 10/20 may be different. |

| Mode 8 (probably 'Load,' but could be 'Receive') is used to load the part program to the Catalog. Once in the mode, the user will see the baud rate, parity selection, echo, and software/hardware flow control (indicated as 'XON'). Always turn 'Echo' off (old mainframe crap), then match baud rate and parity to the sending program. Flow control isn't relevant, since the program is stored to the control's memory as quickly as it's sent. Also, end any conversational events with a real dollar sign ($). There should be no spaces in the part program. BTW, the wiring for the serial port is on the DynaPath website, www.dynapath.com, under 'Control Support.' |
