It does say disabled but is still there in number 8 mode? You would think that you could see something happening when trying to change the date but nothing visibly changes when selecting?Help is not clear ether?

Well I am running a job that a customer will pick up later this afternoon on the machine now.I will mess a bit more with it at that point.
I think I will try my luck by calling up the good people at Dynapath to see if they can help me with the bios.Thank's I will let you know how it went.

Just a note. The Bios and the CNC software are two different systems and do not communicate directly so the CNC does not necessary know whats on or off. It does it own check during boot up. Based on the screen capture you sent. Highlight the first serial port then use the CTRL and page up or page down keys on the keyboard to change your settings then save at exit. Dynapath is a great resource.

Ok excellent!I can select and change in the bios at will with the page up and down keys.Dooh! It's written right there but I was too paranoid of messing it up to try.
The port was already disabled so I turned it on to see if that was the problem all along but it didn't come to life.
So I turned it off again and inserted the ISA i/o card and it still doesn't work. But I am suspecting that the connection between the 25 pin port at the side of the machine and the adapter to the serial port on the card is incorrect.Because when I was trying to send from the controller before putting in the card nothing was happening but now with the new card it is sending, just not receiving at the other end.
I shall make a new cable with a serial port from the pc directly connected to the card with a 9 pin null modem.
    Progress none the less.

So,I finally got the chance to make up a dedicated cable from the pc to the card on the machine and..........................it works!!!!
Without you gwiz, this would of been hopeless and I would of ended up spending big ones on a new motherboard.I am so happy I could burst!
    Thank you so much!!
As promised ,if you PM me your address there will be real Canadian Maple syrup heading your way, unless of course you prefer frog legs.LOL

    Merci

Oops ,Forgot to mention that communication works well both to and from the controller. Will try buffed input soon and will let you know how well it works or not.

    Hello there all!!
Been real busy with sheet metal work to pay the bills lately.Man has got to pay for the bills.Anyway ,I've finally got a project with 667ko size that is too big for the parts program directory,so I sent it to the machine hard drive to drip feed from. That was 45 min.ago and the machine is still busy copying.........
This can't be right!!?So I was wondering if it fed it too fast?I'm using Cimco Edit and perhaps there is a way to set up a handshake so this can't happen.
I'm going to try directly drip feeding from the PC.But I suspect it won't work for the same reason. When the machine went into fault because of the parts program directory being full, cimco just kept going.

    Oh well

Good to hear. Work has been busy the first half of the year. Glad to hear the Dynapath is working well. A couple of notes (may have mentioned them before). When you are not running the serial port to the machine (actively using it) disconnect it. This will help prevent power spikes from screwing up your serial port on your CNC or PC. Good day.

Nice to hear you've been busy. Business is getting better here too.
X2 on the unplug the serial port. I did just that when a storm blew in yesterday.
Fried all my ethernet last year in my pc's and some of the lathe pat lights.
    Take care.
