Default dynapath 20m " In Position " problem

    Good day all

I have a VMC fitted with Delta Dynapath 20M.I have a problem with machine loosing postion in G00 command. If i program a line "G00 X0 Y0 " and hit start in mode 3, machine will rapid from home to "X0 Y0" then pass its program position in sort of a creep motion until it hits its soft limits. This fault only occurred after i had repaired the aux board,and/or re tuned the axis lag.I am currently dripping programs to machine with bobcad cam forcing "G00" code to run as "G01F18000".
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Also i would like to add that by replacing old rs232 memory chips and oscillating crystals has made the control process information much faster than before, almost to highspeed machining.I would be glad to share information about replacement chips if anyone is interested.

Well from what you said a couple things come to mind. 1. loss of feed back for some reason. does the CNC see it drifting off position? If it does then I would say that something is causing some command voltage to go out to your drives.

Check your +- 10vdc axis command after a move to see if it has a voltage.

If you think it is a software issue then I suggest a cold start.

Yes, i do suspect a software issue. What is the procedure for a cold start?

    Cold Start

Back up all your part programs, Macros, Tool tables, and offsets. (will be erased)

Turn off CNC power. Pull the AUX card from the backplane for about 20 min.

One of the few design flaws with the Delta 10/20 series is the battery is on the Aux board and the memory is on the processor board.

What this will do is force the CNC to read the operating software from the chips since the copy in ram is now gone.

    Good luck.

If this fixes your issue and you see it come back later, consider looking for a bad solenoid, valve, contactor that does not a suppressor on the coil. The noise from these can sometime be seen as a line that shoots across the screen when it activates. The noise will mess with the operation.

Thanks once again Gwiz,i will try a cold start once im back at the machine

What i did forget to mention was that i did try running a G00 code from the machine panel last week, and noticed that if i execute the cycle from home position, both x and y axis will travel at its rapid past its designated value then axis slows down and will carry on in negative values until it hits soft limits. But if i stop the axis before hitting soft limits and execute the same code,it will now travel to the designated position,in the other direction, and stop with "in position" asterix.
So that got me confused,G00 is working but one direction only
