Forgot to mention.....2 boards that are suspect are the Processor board (with a light on it glowing) and control board (with 2 lights but only one should be on) to the right of it!
Help! The screen on the control refuses to show any charectors and we have been reliably informed that one of two boards in the control have failed as the WDT light on the board to the right of the processor board is on, ie the control is not booting.
Weve noticed alot of plug in ic's on both these boards, is it worth having a dabble at replacing them or do we break the machine for spares???

The WDT led you mention is the 'Watch Dog Timer' led. It should come on immediately upon applying power, then go out when the processor begins executing the CNC software. The other board with a WDT light is the PIC card. Usually if one WDT comes on, they both come on.
More often than not, these symptoms indicate a bad power supply, specifically the power fail circuit isn't giving the proper signal to start the processor. Unfortunately, it's not definitive; it could be a bad processor board.
I would try a new power supply, then a processor board. Unfortunately the processor board may be hard to come by, you'll have to check with Shape. DynaPath can replace the power supply and/or repair the processor board, but you would have to ship the unit across the pond.
