Hi I have a Dynapath controller and am trying to circle cut an oring groove in an aluminum hole. I can cut the oring groove no problem but how do I make the cutter to move out of the groove on the XY axis before lifting it on the Z axis out of the hole. Thank you much. |

| Without knowing the series of the control I will assume it's 10/20 vintage and assume that you are using one of the circular canned cycles which will want to lift the cutter up the z axis, and through your groove, at the end of the cycle. My suggestion is to add a redundant finish pass, manually interrupt the last pass, jog outside your groove, then raise the spindle. That's a little primitive, but gets the job done. I'm certain there is a fancier way, just haven't given it much thought. |
