it will run, the custom screens they have are skued (i hope i spelled that right)
Before they went out of bussiness I asked Dynacnc if the machine would run with the newer versions of Mach 3. All I got was NO... no explanation. Is anyone using Rev 3 of Mach with thier Dyna machine versus the ancient Rev 1.86? If so, what was req'd to get it going?
Thanks
Mike

Mike i do not have a definitive answer for you but Mach3 can run just about anything.
You would be best going to the Mach3 forum to ask your question.
There are a lot of guys doing custom screens which in the main are free
ClearCaseMan "skewed" is the correct spelling

Well I decided to give a shot to upgrading. I saved out my xml files and upgraded to 3.04 Mach 3. Recopied my xml files into Mach and all is well. I had to make a few very minor changes.
The custom screens were not filling the wide screen monitor as they previously did though.(skewed?). I reset my screen resolution back to 1024 x 768 and unchecked the auto screen enlarge in the config area, wala! they now fill the screen again. Its much easier to hit the buttons.
Good Luck to you other DynaCnc orphans
Mike
An update on Mach 3 ver3.04 for my Dynacnc machine. It seems when I upgraded something is not quite the same. When I home the gantry, it stops on dead on the limit switch and won't back off. I played with the debounce and index intervals to no avail. In 1.86 I had them set 600 and 300 and homing works as it should have.
Any of you DCNC operators using 3.04 Mach and having the machine home correctly. If so, could I get a copy of your XML to compare. I would like to stay with 3.04 but may have to downgrade to 1.86 or 1.9 if I can't figure this out.
Thanks
Mike
