I have a 10 hp rotary phase converter that puts out 110 / 110 / 220 each to ground.
Which terminal do I hook the 220 leg (high / wild) to?
It is an andersonconverters.com converter but it IS NOT their CNC converter.
Would the previous owner have smoked this machine using this converter? I saw it hooked to this converter but never saw it run.
I'm no expert on rpcs, though I did months of research trying to understand them ;+}
Unless this is some strange animal, you should have ~220V between _any_ 2 of the 3 hot legs, and 110-120V between any hot leg and neutral. I don't understand why one hot to ground is that high. Are you testing it unloaded, and are you sure you're actually measuring the hots?
Also, as I understand it, an RPC needs to be "tuned" to match the load to the converter, the goal being to get all 3 legs to be the same for a specific load condition. Unloaded, they can vary a bit, but surely not 100V! Regarding the size, I would think a 10hp converter would be enough to run a whole shop, so I don't think the converter is undersized for the Dyna.
